Accounts and sign-in
How do I sign in?
Choose Sign In or Create Free Account, then Continue with Google. Use the same Google account to return to your saved links. URLBit has no separate password or Forgot Password flow; recover access through Google if needed.
Can I create a link without an account?
Yes, from the home page. Sign in before creating a link if you want it in your dashboard with management and analytics. Previously anonymous links are not automatically assigned to your account.
Creating and managing links
What does a short URL look like?
https://urlbit.io/ followed by a six-character generated code or your custom name. The public domain must be connected to the deployed app for those URLs to work. In Preview, use Test in Preview while testing.
Why is my custom name invalid or unavailable?
Use 3–20 letters (A–Z, a–z), numbers, hyphens or underscores. Enter only the name, not a full URL. Spaces and slashes are not allowed. Some names are reserved for app pages; others already belong to a link. The form tells you which applies. Custom names are available on both plans.
Do links expire after inactivity?
No automatic age or inactivity expiry is currently implemented. Links remain active until paused or archived, subject to service, domain and destination availability. A Premium cancellation does not expire existing links. This is not a promise of permanent hosting. Temporary Preview URLs can stop working when their sandbox expires.
Can I edit or delete a link?
For links you own, Edit opens a dialog for the destination, title and description without changing the short URL. Rename URL changes its short code while preserving the link's analytics and creation date. Old shared URLs and QR codes stop working; copy the new URL and download new QR codes. Old codes cannot be reused. Pause or archive a link to stop redirects temporarily; resume or restore it to reactivate it. Delete permanently removes link details and recorded click history after you type the current short code to confirm. It cannot be restored. A small code reservation and creation-count record stays; deleted links still count toward the month they were created. If deletion is interrupted, the link remains disabled and you can select Retry deletion.
Why was a destination blocked?
URLBit uses Cloudflare's malware/phishing domain filter when creating links, changing destinations, reactivating links and following existing links. IP-address URLs, local names and private or reserved networks are not supported. A blocked visit does not open the destination or record a redirect click. If the safety service cannot respond or the domain cannot resolve, retry later; there is no bypass button. Results can be reused for up to 60 seconds.
This checks domains, not every page, download or subsequent redirect. It cannot guarantee that a destination is harmless. For a suspected false positive, contact support with the short URL.
How do QR codes work?
Select QR Code, then download PNG or SVG. The QR encodes the full URLBit link and can be printed. Opening it requires internet access and a working redirect; it does not make the destination available offline.
Plans and billing
What is included in Free?
100 links created per UTC calendar month, one URL per submission, plus custom names, click analytics, CSV export, QR downloads and individual link management. Archiving or permanently deleting a link does not refund that month's creation count.
What does Premium add?
Unlimited monthly creation and batches of up to 50 URLs, pasted one per line, for $9.99/month. Premium includes all Free tools. It does not add team workspaces, unique-visitor analytics, location tracking or bulk editing. Request rate limits still apply.
How do I upgrade or cancel?
Open Subscription and select Start Premium checkout. Stripe Checkout opens in a separate tab from Preview. Live checkout takes a real payment of $9.99 USD and renews monthly until cancelled. Test subscriptions do not transfer to live billing. Payment and subscription state must be verified before Premium activates.
To stop renewal, select Cancel renewal and confirm. Paid-period access continues until the period ends. Once access ends, new-link creation follows Free limits; existing Active links are retained.
Stripe returned me to a missing sandbox
The Checkout session may contain an older Preview return address. Reopen URLBit from Teable, sign in with the same account and refresh your subscription status. A failed return page does not prove the payment failed. Check your plan before attempting another subscription.
Analytics
Open Analytics beside your own link. Both plans offer date ranges, daily counts, device/browser/referrer breakdowns and CSV exports. Counts are recorded clicks, not unique people. Bots and repeat clicks are not filtered. Country currently displays Unknown. The events view shows up to 100 events in the selected range; export includes the loaded events for that range.
Troubleshooting and contact
If a link fails, check that its status is Active, the destination opens directly, and the domain is connected. Paused or archived links show an unavailable message. A successful redirect can still occur if recording a click fails, so analytics are not guaranteed to count every visit.
Admins can remove and restore account access. Removal retains records and does not automatically pause public links. Contact us for data-access or deletion requests; removal from the admin list is not a data-erasure workflow.
For account problems, feedback or suspicious links, use Contact or email mediaminthub@gmail.com. Include the affected URL, account email and error message, but never send passwords, sign-in codes or payment-card details. There is no advertised response-time guarantee, enterprise API or team-collaboration plan.
